Meal Packaging
An economic and efficient packaging that showcases a pattern influenced by a specific Japanese ceramic called Imari-ware. The meal would ideally seasonally change not only its menu, but its artwork. Its purpose is to highlight the culture of every prefecture in Japan through taste and visual demonstration, providing a unique experience to the individual despite potentially being a seasoned traveler.

An Origin Story
The illustration is adorned with motifs that were often depicted in the ceramics such as Japanese cranes, koi fish, florals, trees, and fruits. The handmade aspect of the illustration was maintained to imitate the “imperfections” that an artist would naturally apply to the imari-ware.
Process
Extensive research was done to inform the artwork, form factor, and menu choices. A workbook that details the process and information gathered was designed to accompany the packaging. The above is only a small preview of the entire book.
